چکیده

The paper addresses a central question: What kind of information or measurements are needed for closed loop control of distributed systems? Is it suucient to deal with projections or do we need tomographic data? The answer to these questions is strongly related to properties derived from \observability" and \controllability" of a process. It can be shown that under certain circumstances both strategies can be equivalent (however not with respect to the computational complexity) and for what conditions we will have diierent results. The theoretical results will be illustrated with the example of a closed loop burner control.

Extracting Dynamics Matrix of Alignment Process for a Gimbaled Inertial Navigation System Using Heuristic Dynamic Programming Method

In this paper, with the aim of estimating internal dynamics matrix of a gimbaled Inertial Navigation system (as a discrete Linear system), the discretetime Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation for optimal control has been extracted. Heuristic Dynamic Programming algorithm (HDP) for solving equation has been presented and then a neural network approximation for cost function and control input ...

A Novel Clustering Approach for Estimating the Time of Step Changes in Shewhart Control Charts

Although control charts are very common to monitoring process changes, they usually do not indicate the real time of the changes. Identifying the real time of the process changes is known as change-point estimation problem. There are a number of change point models in the literature however most of the existing approaches are dedicated to normal processes. In this paper we propose a novel app...

All It Takes for Corruption in Health Systems to Triumph, Is Good People Who Do Nothing; Comment on “We Need to Talk About Corruption in Health Systems”

Numerous investigations demonstrate that the problem of corruption in the health sector is enormous and has grave negative consequences for patients. Nevertheless, the problem of corruption in health systems is far from eminent in the international health policy debate. Hutchinson, Balabanova, and McKee have identifed in their Editorial five reasons why the health policy community has been relu...
